I blog about travel and beauty, sometimes at the same time.
Paths & Errands started as a lifestyle blog in November 2014, when I took what would eventually become a permanent break from my old blog (more on this later) because it was all beauty—and as much as I really, truly love beauty, I cannot write about beauty all day long (more on this later too) and then take a break by blogging about beauty some more. I just used “beauty” about 50 times in that sentence, so maybe you can guess what I do, job-wise.
At the beginning of 2015, I went to Europe for five months, which is when this space transformed into a travel blog. I still talk about (here we go again) beauty, but often in the context of travel. Plus, I tend to ramble a lot more on here. I tend to blog sporadically, because when my brain is not at work, it enjoys taking a break from the words and watching the Cooking Channel.
Previously, I was the contributing beauty editor at Lifestyle Mirror, where I learned that the “s” in “Cannes” is silent (I learned other things too, of course). I’ve also freelanced for CBS Watch! Magazine and Refinery29. I currently freelance for TeenVogue.com. Before I launched Paths & Errands, you may have found me churning out long-winded reviews on Makeup Morsels, where I fine-tuned the art of pontificating about sunscreen and lipstick (2009-2014, R.I.P. MM). If fun things like $200 toothbrushes are more your speed, check out my contributor column on Forbes.com, where I cover luxury beauty & men’s grooming. All links can be accessed under the “Clips” tab on the menu bar.
Every beauty product that has appeared on here was probably a press sample from my day job. Since this blog is not my job (and also not entirely about beauty), I’ll only bother writing about products if I’m head-over-heels in love with them. You know the drill: all opinions are my own, and in accordance with FTC guidelines, I will disclose free product or services at the bottom of each post.
On occasion, I may also include affiliate links in my posts, disclosed in the same manner.
